Notebook model: Compaq Presario CQ61-323ER BIOS
Vendor: Insyde
BIOS Version: F.11
BIOS date: 08/21/2009
Motherboard's manufacturer: Quanta and its
Motherboard's model:306A
Chipset: Intel PM45 Rev:07
Processor socket: SocketP (478)
Product number: [Personal Information Removed]
Installed OS: Windows 7 x32
Problem: I wanted to install Windows 10 x64 on my new SSD and use it in GPT mode. If I am correct, the necessary thing for this is to have an UEFI instead of Legacy BIOS. Could anyone help me to find the correct UEFI update for this one? I would be very grateful!

Hi there! It's me again. Excuse me for being absent for a while: I was busy with setting up my new OS.
So, as far as I understood, nothing changed after I upgraded my BIOS, except for its version (from F.11 it changed to F.21), so my BIOS didn't start to support UEFI (I tried to install W10 using bootable USB-stick, created in Rufus in "UEFI (non-CMS)" mode, but during installation I got an error screen saying that my BIOS is running (not supporting) only Legacy mode. After I'm done with acquaintance with Win10, I wanted to text you back and tell the results, but then I saw that firstly you gave me the link to BIOS F.23 and later - to F.21, so I upgraded to the latest version and... nothing changed... again☹ So, here are some assumptions:
1) My hardware supports UEFI, because even after installing Windows 10, HWiNFO still shows that my PC is capable with it.
2) In spite of the previous fact, my PC doesn't work in UEFI mode, because there isn't appropriate software.
3) Maybe, there're later updates on the ftp site, but I'm too lazy to look through each link.
All in all, I'm happy with the result I have now, so this GPT mode for my SSD (the main reason I started writing here) isn't that necessary as I thought. It's quite disappointing that I can't get the maximum of my PC hardware because of the appropriate software's absence (thank you, dearest HP😒), but I'll handle it.
Thank you for your help, even though I haven't reached the result I wanted, it's great that here's such quick response. I think that now I'll use that service more frequently🙃🤫

Hi:
Your notebook does not support UEFI and no BIOS update will provide that option.
You can upgrade your notebook to W10 with the current BIOS it has now.
However, if you want to update the BIOS to a newer version than what you have now, here are the info and exe links...
Info: F.23
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp51501-52000/sp51527.html
Exe:

OK, got it.
The BIOS update I posted for you was the last one HP released for your notebook.
It is possible that UEFI support was added in an earlier BIOS update that is newer than the one you currently have installed, and the one I posted.
Since HP retired support for your notebook, there is no easy way to find the BIOS revision history/release notes.

The fact that my model is retired makes everything sooo difficult. I've watched through loads of videos and sites and heard such a thing: each update should be installed one after another. That means if you have BIOS v.1, you can't upgrade to v.3, because firstly you have to upgrade to v.2. Do you understand what I mean?
If my laptop wasn't retired, I could fined, as you said, history of ALL updates and install each one in order they were released. But, unfortunately, I can't.
So, my question is: is that info true? Were there other updates between my V. 11 and your V. 32? Will something bad happen to my BIOS if I install an update you've posted?
And should I open your links in Internet Explorer?

As far as I am aware, the BIOS updates are cumulative, which means the update I posted contains all of the updates all of the previous BIOS updates provided.
If you are using Microsoft Edge on W7, yes you have to use Internet explorer to open the links.
Now, if you want to try and backtrack to see if you can find any of the older updates, here is the link to the HP ftp site, which has the available software files for every HP PC there is.
For example: the BIOS update I posted superseded sp46655.
So, check to see if there is a file for the sp46655, and there is.
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp46501-47000/sp46655.html
Then that file shows the previous version it replaced.
That is the only way to check the revision history.

Oh dear, I got you. According to what you said, everything is possible. I'll try that tomorrow and write a result ASAP (there's 01:29 on my clock and I can't go to bed, because I worry about that too much).
I even don't know how to thank you, I've never used any support services, because they answer once an eternity, but YOU are out of the ordinary! THANK YOU VERY-VERY-VERY MUCH!
If it isn't too impudent of me to ask about it, can you, please, give me some advices about updating BIOS? Personally, I know only about the fact that electricity must be stable during the process of update, that's all...
Thank you again, I'll text you back, when something figures out)))
