You're very welcome.

Since you are running W7, which is a supported operating system to update the BIOS in, this is what you do...

Download and save the BIOS update file.

Make sure you have no other programs open.

Make sure the PC is plugged into AC power.

Do not have anything connected to the PC except the power adapter.

The double click to run the BIOS update file.

Follow the on screen instructions to update the BIOS.

Yes, it is very late in the Ukraine, so get some sleep.😊

Thank you for everything, it's so pleasantly to find someone so nice ☺

I'm surprised that you can see where I live, but I think it's OK. And yes... I have to take a nap now, but I'll be back!🤖😎

Hi:

Underneath your user name where you post replies, the country you listed when you registered to use the forum is listed.

If you look at mine, it shows the United States.

Hi, it's me again. I tried to look through some links and files, but there're TOO many of them, so I installed what you posted. Eventually, nothing changed. Now I just have F. 21 BIOS version instead of F.11. Maybe, I'm looking in a wrong place? Where can I find that UEFI boot menu?

Hi:

You did it right if you now have F.21.

So what you should be looking for is to press the F10 key, and there should be two settings...EFI and Legacy.

If you don't have that option, then your BIOS is legacy only.

How to Tell If You Have a UEFI BIOS, or Legacy BIOS - YouTube

Hi there! It's me again. Excuse me for being absent for a while: I was busy with setting up my new OS.

So, as far as I understood, nothing changed after I upgraded my BIOS, except for its version (from F.11 it changed to F.21), so my BIOS didn't start to support UEFI (I tried to install W10 using bootable USB-stick, created in Rufus in "UEFI (non-CMS)" mode, but during installation I got an error screen saying that my BIOS is running (not supporting) only Legacy mode. After I'm done with acquaintance with Win10, I wanted to text you back and tell the results, but then I saw that firstly you gave me the link to BIOS F.23 and later - to F.21, so I upgraded to the latest version and... nothing changed... again☹ So, here are some assumptions:

1) My hardware supports UEFI, because even after installing Windows 10, HWiNFO still shows that my PC is capable with it.

2) In spite of the previous fact, my PC doesn't work in UEFI mode, because there isn't appropriate software.

3) Maybe, there're later updates on the ftp site, but I'm too lazy to look through each link.

All in all, I'm happy with the result I have now, so this GPT mode for my SSD (the main reason I started writing here) isn't that necessary as I thought. It's quite disappointing that I can't get the maximum of my PC hardware because of the appropriate software's absence (thank you, dearest HP😒), but I'll handle it.

Thank you for your help, even though I haven't reached the result I wanted, it's great that here's such quick response. I think that now I'll use that service more frequently🙃🤫

Anytime.

Glad to have been of assistance, and sorry that you were unable to get the PC to install W10 in EFI mode.

It's not your fault, so don't be sorry, see you in next discussions😉
