I would like to know if an NVMe 1.3 SSD, PCle Gen3x4, M.2 2280 is compatible with my HP 14-Dq2000 laptop, I am considering changing it for one with more storage

Then your notebook supports a M.2 NVMe SSD.
HP only has the service manual for the original 14-dq0xxx model series but even in the older model series, the notebooks with the Intel Core processors supported NVMe SSD's.
See chapter 1, page 2.

You're very welcome.
It has to be an Intel Core processor.
Pentium and Celeron processors are Intel processors too.
Also, if your notebook is one that has a 64 GB eMMC drive, those do not have M.2 slots either.
