HP Support Assistant
There are still two types of the HP Support Assistant around.
- HP Support Assistant > Versions 8.x > Software
- HP Support Assistant > Versions 9.x and newer > Application
Both types, HPSA software program and HPSA application, serve the same purpose.
9.x is dressed up in a newer format -- "new clothes" for newer hardware.
It is likely that the newer HP Support Assistant is not compatible with your computer.
What else?
There are no new drivers for your older machine -- most are many years old -- even the newest BIOS listed in the Windows 10 category is from 2019.
Reference > Category Software and Drivers
Set OS to Windows and select Version to Windows 10
If you wish to leave the 8.x version of the HPSA software installed,
Switch off the checks for Automatic Updates.
