Ok, what about this unit.  Would it suffice?

No that one requires DP-Alt which means a USB-C port that outputs video. Yours does not. Include the term "DisplayLink" in your product search. These are usually bigger and more expensive docks but create the video signal from a standard USB-C data only port. The driver is built in to Windows 10 and 11.

If I was going to spend another $100 on something, then it would be a superior laptop, not an accessory.  I guess this is going back. HP needs to be clearer in their product details.

I was looking at the laptop specifications and it seems that the USB-C port is compatible with DisplayPort, so all you need to do is buy any dock or simply a USB-C to HDMI cable.

It was my mistake not to check the specifications, but it's strange that these models have DisplayPort, which is why I made the mistake.

So DisplayPort only, not Alt? If necessary, I can deal with just a USB to HDMI cable. The extra ports are just handy.

HP Recommended

It's the same as DisplayLink in no Alt mode. You can use the USB-C port and the HDMI port and connect two monitors in Extended mode using a cable, or you can purchase a USB-C dock with an HDMI port to connect other monitors.
