I have a HP Mini 311 - 1037NR but i need to buy a HDD for it. I am having problems determining what kind of HDD will work with it because I cannot find out what kind of SATA connector it has. Would a SATA III 2.5" 5400RPM 1TB HDD work? Or do I need to find SATA 1 or SATA 2 HDDs?

SATA 3 is backwrd compatiblw with earlier SATA version, they use same connector type. Please try SATA II (or 2) because you have to pay more for a SATA 3 HDD but won't get its speed.

 

The following manual (page 4-18) shows you part number (if you wish to use HP parts) and how to replace HDD
