I had made that suggestion of buying one chip because the product specs for your notebook indicated it came with 1 x 8 GB, and not 2 x 4 GB (which is actually better for performance than 1 x 8 GB).

 

It's a tiny bit cheaper on Amazon.

 

I wonder why the picture of the memory is different in the Amazon picture than the Crucial one and the other site you posted?

 

Your PC uses single rank memory and the amazon picture shows dual rank memory.

I decided to just buy the ram stick from alternate twice so it equals to 16 GB.

Hey Paul,

 

I have just installed the RAM successfully . So far it is pretty good and it feels nice to run on 16gb RAM.
