OMEN by HP - 15-ce002la
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I want to upgrade my notebook using an M2 SSD. I'd like to know which one are compatibles and how much storage room does the motherboard supports. I've checked the manuals but I can't seem to find the information.

Thanks in advance!

Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

The M.2 slot supports NVMe SSD's.

The Crucial memory report for your model at the link below sells compatible NVMe M.2 SSD's.

They also indicate that SATA M.2 SSD's would work too, but NVMe would be much faster.

Thanks, one more question, how big can the SSD be? Is there a limit? I can't seem to find that answer, I want a 1TB one but not sure if motherboard supports it.

Hi:

Crucial indicates that a 1 TB drive would work.

The drive capacities listed by HP are only what they offered, not what the max is.

Ok, so the motherboard won't "limit" the amount of space it supports for an SSD?

According to the Crucial report, they say you can even go as high as 2 TB in the M.2 slot.

1 TB should be fine.

If HP installed 1 TB M.2 SSD's in a model series, it would make it very unaffordable.
