The battery on my laptop needs replacing - It is a HS03 that is 10.95v I have  larger replacement battery that is 10.8v model MI06, will it power the laptop with the slightly reduced voltage safely?

See the link below this line for sources for compatible batteries for your notebook. I targeted your UK marketing region in my search.

Ensure that the vendor guarantees compatibility and also provides a one year warranty for the battery before you pull the trigger on the purchase.

Thanks Erico - unfortunately I have purchased the replacement battery from HPLAPTOPBATTERY.CO.UK their compatability list showed it was OK but there are 2 additional tabs that stop it being located correctly, I have been tempted to remove the tabs (all other tabs are same as HS03 battery) hence the query about voltage compatability.

I found the HP site confusing - my old battery is HS03 with 10.95v they show the battery for my laptop as 14.7v, it seems they changed the voltage on the 250 G4 at some point, a number of sites state the HS03 is 14.7v.

I am trying to get a response from hplaptopbattery but it seems they are based in China, I will carry on chasing them.

Once again thanks for your help

Your best bet for a good price is likely to be on Amazon.co.uk. At least there you will get the backing of Amazon customer service if a vendor tries to play games with you. See the link below for HP HS03 batteries

Thanks Erico - I already had the battery that the company said was compatible but it had an additional 2 tabs that stopped it being installed.

I cut off the 2 tabs and it works perfectly (so far!).

Lessons learned - do not trust a supplier from their email address and look at reviews on Trustpilot.

I think I got away with it this time - thanks for your help.
