Compatible boot drive

What is the factory drive type installed? Is an m.2 NVMe compatible with this such as Samsung 970 PRO Series - 1TB PCIe NVMe - M.2 Internal SSD Black/Red (MZ-V7P1T0BW)  to replace the boot drive? Or is it an NGFF only?

See p. 2. Your specs say your laptop came with a 1 TB 7200 rpm mechanical drive and you can keep that and add a PCIe/NVME M.2 disk which can be configured as the boot drive. I have done many of these installations and have seen no need to spend the money on the Pro series NVME disks. I am typing this on my personal laptop which has a Samsung 970 Evo NVME M.2 and it registers 3200+ read and 2200+ write speeds which it would be hard to improve upon with the much more expensive Pro disk. 

NGFF just refers to the "gumstick" form factor...all mSSD disks are NGFF; the distinction is SATA v NVME, B + M vs. M key only.

On this laptop the memory, hard drive, M.2 and wireless card are customer replaceable so no warranty issue. See p. 37 for instructions on how to remove the back cover. Post back with any questions and please accept as solution if this is the info you needed.

Now is it possible to swap the Sata (like this one Crucial MX500 1TB 3D NAND SATA M.2 Type 2280SS Internal SSD - CT1000MX500SSD4)  with this one that I really want Samsung 970 PRO Series - 1TB PCIe NVMe - M.2 Internal SSD Black/Red (MZ-V7P1T0BW) ?

I am not sure I am making myself clear. Here are your specs.

Right now you only have a 2.5 inch mechanical hard drive. There is no M.2 disk SATA or otherwise. So I am not sure what you mean by "swap". But yes if you want to use the Samsung 970 Pro I am sure it will work for you to put in the slot as shown in the red circle in the picture I posted above.

Per the manual on page 2 there is an m.2 sata and ssd. Per removing the bottom cover of the notebook there is the (m.2 toshiba sata- 5pin M-key (UPDATE EDIT ACTUALLY IT'S B&Mkey)) and ssd.

OK I am not sure what you are asking here??? The Manual covers a whole range of models. Yours only has a hard drive in it right now unless it has been altered after delivery from the factory.

My computer has two hard drives (PER THE MANUAL THERE IS CLEARLY AND CONCISELY DUAL HARDDRIVES)(earlier I mistakenly identified the existing as an mkey 5pin but infact it is a b&m) I am asking if it is possible without conflict to remove existing m.2 sata and replacing it with the nvme m.2 5pin m-key!

Yes it is. All M.2 slots are the same and just have two chambers but either a B + M or M key will fit into the slot. In your case the slot can support either type so you will be successful installing a Samsung 970 Pro which is an M key device.  A lot of info here so please accept as solution to male it easier for others with the same issue to find it.
