Hi. I have a HP 15-dy5098ca laptop and I am trying to connect it to two external monitors (both are HP EliteDisplay E221). Does this laptop with an Intel iRIS XE video card support three monitors if you include the laptop display? I have one of the external monitors hooked up by using the HDMI output and I am trying to hook up the other monitor by using the USB-C output and an HDMI adaptor.  The second monitor is not working, so either the adaptor is not working or the video card does not support two external displays. If it is the adaptor, can you recommend an adaptor or hub that will work with this laptop? Thanks in advance.

The specs of your machine is

             https://support.hp.com/ie-en/document/c08210291

It ONLY has 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to

  • Charge your machine
  • Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter

If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only), you can use

Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,

Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as

                  https://www.amazon.com.au/CableCreation-Adapter-Windows-Compatible-2560x1440/dp/B013G4CJM8

For more connectivity, please use

                              True Universal Docking Stations
