How do I connect my elitebook 840 to 2 HP 24F monitors for a dual display?  I only have one VGA output on my laptop, but no HDMI output?  Any suggestions?

There are few generations of HP Eliyebook 840, what is yours ? Your machine ONLY has 1 VGA port, looks like it is an old generation. If you wish to connect TWO external monitors, please use USB dock which is DisplayLink certified such as

You might consider the 2013 UltraSlim Docking Station as it was the primary dock HP released for your 840 G1 notebook.

It has several ports....

4 USB 3.0 ports (3 USB 3.0 ports, 1 Charging port)

1 RJ-45 (network) jack

2 DisplayPort 1.2

1 VGA port

1 Line-in jack

1 Line-out jack
