I have this problem with my 2 year old lapop that everytime the cooling fan is spinning, there is an unusual sound that seems to come underneath the left side of the keyboard and sounds like a static sound, its hard to describe but it sounds as if there is a thin piece of metal rubbing against the spinning fan and is quite annoying. If I hold the laptop at an angle it goes away but if i keep it flat on a table it comes back.
The fan itself seems to be fine, my laptop doesn't overheat and I can feel the air coming out of the side. I tried to blow the vents with a compressed air can but it doesn't seem to fix the problem.
The problem is that this laptop is very hard to open with a risk of damaging something, i have to pry the whole top half just to access the fan which I think is too risky.
What is this sound and how can I get rid of it??
