My HP laptop (HP Notebook - 14q-cs0007tu) developed cracks near the left hinge which gradually increased. this was reported to HP customer care in warranty but they refused to repair calling this an external damage. Since this is due to pressure exerted by a defective hinge, they should have repaired it for free under warranty. ☹️. They said I will have to pay for replacement of key board.
Very sad to hear this. I spent so much money to buy a branded product and getting such issues within warranty period and then still paying hefty money to get it repaired is something which makes me loose confidence in HP as a brand.
I see this is a known problem faced by many other customers and is a manufacturing defect. What can HP do to resolved this ?

Hi @NitinMi, Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Apologies for all the inconvenience
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,
I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue, and in order to fix this issue, your computer needs to be serviced. As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now,
As this is a hardware issue, I'd suggest you contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer.
If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
Have a great day!

I had contacted the HP Customer Care and Service Desk in my region which is India. I had reported the issue to them within warranty period, although with time, the warranty period is now over. However they still refused to repair it within warranty considering it as an external damage. However, in my opinion, this is a product defect as the hinge pressure due to folding and unfolding of the laptop screen has caused it. In this case this should be repaired free of charge within warranty. Request to please see if this can be done.
