Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP elitebook 840 G1 intel core i5 8GB RAM 256GB ROM Windows 10 has been crashing and freezing even with the smallest of tasks like transferring files, I tried collecting red **bleep** redemption setup file and it crashed midway.

I was trying to update my PC when I got it and it crashed and restarted I even migrated to Linux mint but it didn't stop crashing

Hello.

Could be many things, including bad SSD or bad memory. Maybe overheating too. Or a faulty system board.

I recommend running diagnostics on both. Hit F2 when laptop starts up to test the drive. Test the RAM with Memtest 86+

Overheating - monitor the CPU temp. If it goes north of 90°C when not under heavy load, check the cooling system - fan working? lots of dust and cat hair clogging the heat sink?
