Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I would like to replace my older HDD WD10JPVX-60JC3T0 with a more current SSD.  Can someone who knows what they are doing tell give me a suggestion on which SSD I should choose? I looked on Amazon and it confused hell out of me... I use my laptop for purely personal stuff, no business (occasional spreadsheets and word documents is about as sophisticated as I get).  I don't need much storage.  Just very average home use.  I don't want to take my laptop apart before I have the new hard drive replacement if I can help it.   Thanks

Hi:

I recommend that you replace that model drive with one of the Western Digital Blue 2.5" SA510 models.

This is the 500 GB model for example:

Amazon.com: Western Digital 500GB WD Blue SA510 SATA Internal Solid State Drive SSD - SATA III 6 Gb/...

Paul,

I probably should have asked you this before, but will this drive fit as an easy swap or do I have to buy or do or adapt anything make it work?  I bought the 1T size.  Thanks, Mike

Hi, Mike.

You don't need any additional parts.

Just use the same parts that the existing drive is connected to.

It will use the same mounting hardware and drive connector.

The drive in there might be a bit thicker, but the 7.0 mm drive will fit fine.

Once again, thank you.
