HP Pavilion-14-bf146tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have purchased a new HP battery for my HP Pavilion-14-bf146tx. When I run the Battery check in HP support assistant, the cycle count is increasing even if I don't do full Discharge and charge. I thought cycle count only gets filled if we discharge it to around 10 % and then fully charge the battery again.

Can someone explain how the cycle count is calculated?

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

The maximum capacity of a battery changes over time. Because of this change in battery capacity, the charge level indicator in Windows might not show 100% charged. A cycle count refer to using all of your battery juice and then charging the battery to the 100% fill. On average, a laptop battery has a lifespan of between two and four years (around 1,000 full charges).
