HP Pavilion - 15-cs3065cl

Have added in a 1TB NVME SSD and have seen a big improvement, but I am honestly quite hard on my poor laptop, and would like to give it some DDR5 RAM to handle the load I put on the poor thing. Was wondering if it can handle DDR5, or just DDR4? Also, what GB can it handle taking?

Sorry if this is a stupid question. I'm pretty new to hardware mods.

Thank you all so much. Genuinely.

Your notebook only supports DDR4 memory.

DDR5 memory runs at a lower voltage, has a different number of contact pins and the slot in the DDR5 memory circuit board is cut in a different place, making it impossible for a DDR5 memory chip to fit in a DDR4 memory slot.

Your notebook supports a minimum of 2 x 8 GB of DDR4-2666 MHz CL19 memory.

You can also use DDR4-3200 MHZ CL22 memory, but it will only run at 2666 MHz.

The Crucial memory report for your notebook indicates it will support 2 x 32 GB of memory, but that is probably overkill.

You may want to install 2 x 16 GB of memory though.

This is helpful, thank you!

I'll go for the 2 x 16GB DDR4 3200s then!

Once again, thank you so much!

You're very welcome.

The way operating systems and programs use more and more memory nowadays, you may find that you will need 64 GB of memory down the road.
