Hello, I'd like to ask for some assistance/if anyone has experience regarding an exchange following a DOA product.
I found a very good price and ordered the HP pavillion gaming laptop 15-cx0701ng from the online store, and the laptop came with a defective flickering screen. I went through customer support, got a DOA approved (about two weeks after purchase), I received an email indicating that my laptop would be picked up and replaced, and my laptop was picked up by a courier. So I called the purchasing department to ask when my replacement laptop would arrive and they just told me that they didn't have these laptops in storage or production anymore and couldn't replace it (keep in mind that was a little over two weeks ago). The sales rep told me they could refund me and have me purchase a new one, and made me an offer for a laptop for 230 euros more than I paid, with an worse graphics card and no hard drive disk (just a 256 GB SSD, which mine also had).
My question is, doesn't my warranty guarantee that I am to recieve a replacement of equal or better quality (or at least have it repaired) in case of DOA? I know it might seem silly to jot just take the refund, but I spent months looking for a good deal, found a date when several retailers had excellent prices, and decided to go with HP, and I'd rather not go through that all over again if I have a right to a replacement.
