Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hi,

I bought a replacement motherboard due to failures. The mohterboard arrived and when I connected it barebones style, it would power on the immediatley off. I swapped out CPU, memory and used only the power supply with the same power on and off issue. I swapped power supply and even did the reset without success. As I looked over the motherboard I found that the screw that secures the CPU into the slot was in a verticle position rather then a horizontal position. When I go to secure the screw, it only goes in the verical locking instead of the horizontal locking position. At first I thought it wasn't a big deal but I can feel movement of the cpu when it is in this strange veritcal lock position. How can I reposition the lock screw so it will function correct? I don't want to break the COU or mount so I can ship the board if needed. I am not sure how this screw if possible can be repositioned so it matches the onboard graphic of lock unlock position. The position of the screw doesn't change with or without a CPU in the slot.

Thanks,

John

I would say that you should send it back and get another replacement.  The reason i say that is because the CPU socket is one of the most fragle parts of a computer.  Laptop or Desktop and if something is wrong with it you are back to send it back and get another replacement.
