Product: HP 650 G1
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Dear Sir/Madam,

 

Can you give me a hint what is actual difference between HP laptop (650 G1) motherboards 744020-001 and 744016-001. From the HP user manual I can not conclude since both boards are described with the same text.

Hi,

 

Yes, both have similar, not same, text:

 

(a) 744020-001 System board (motherboard) - With QM87 chipset - For use in 15.6-inch models equipped with UMA memory, WWAN capability, a modem, and a non-Windows operating system - Includes replacement thermal material

 

with 46 models/products use this board.

 

(b) 744016-001 System board (motherboard) - With HM87 chipset - For use in 15.6-inch models equipped with UMA memory, WWAN capability, a modem, and a non-Windows operating system - Includes replacement thermal material

 

with 123 models/products use this board.

 

HP 650 G1 is a series of many models/products. Now, please go to the following link, enter part number to see a list of all products which use board a or b.
