I would like to know how to safely disassemble the HP15-ba085nr to remove the fan so it can be replaced/repaired

Pages 57-61 of the Service Manual show how to do it. 

 

Manual

 

The instructions will spell out the preliminary steps so you actually start back further in the Manual. On this model the fan and heatsink are fairly easily accessible by removing the bottom cover.
