Hp envy 15-j104sl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have an Hp Envy 15 -j104sl, unfortunately after a fall the display is not working correctly: sometimes the left part or the whole display goes white and it's impossible to use it unless i move the display/the hinges in another position.
The glass is not broken, i think the problem may be in the bottom base/hinges/ some other kind of contact not working fine.

I am really disappointed by the Hp online assistance: I can't find associated store to send my laptop to repair and i can't even call the assistance if i my warranty is expired. Foto 22-09-16, 15 55 58.jpgFoto 22-09-16, 15 56 35.jpg

That is a bad display cable or possibly the display panel. It is going to require service by a technician. Where do you live (country)? I am unclear if you are saying your warranty is or is not expired?

I live in Italy, the warranty is expired and from the Hp support site there is no way to contact them (except through this forum) because the assistence phone number is reserved for those who own a warranty (not expired).

Thank you for your answer, sorry if I'm not too clear.

This Forum is not HP Support so you could arrange for repair. We are fellow end users providing peer-to-peer assistance.

We can help you locate a replacement screen or cable and to do the repair yourself or get some help from a local technician. Having HP repair it after warranty is very expensive since they are not primarily in that business and have to charge a lot to do repairs out of warranty.

Yes, I understand. I was just disappointed that after a couple of years of warranty Hp totally abandons you.
