Hi,
From other threads on this forum, I thought my Pavilion 15-cc563st 15-cc500 would have an additional extension M.2 SSD slot; as there seem to be dual storage configurations listed on the product specification. I ran the Crucial "find compatible SSD" tool and purchased an M2. However, when I open up the back of the laptop, I could not find any extension SSD slots. Could I be overlooking the slot, or does my laptop actually not support it?
Here's a pic of the internals around the HDD area, where I thought I would find the extension SSD slot.
Thanks!

You're very welcome.
Your model does not have a M.2 slot, or it would be where you saw it in the video.
As you can see in your screenshot, that area is empty, and there is no hardware present to add a M.2 slot.
This is not unusual if your notebook did not come with a M.2 SSD from HP.
There must be certain motherboards that have M.2 slots and some that do not.
What I do not see in the service manual (chapter 3) is a list of motherboards with or without M.2 slots, or the parts to add a slot.

Hi:
From what I can tell from your screenshots you are only showing the hard drive area.
See this video for the location of the M.2 slot in your notebook's model series.
It is all the way to the right of the battery.

Hi, I appreciate the link, thanks! I'm looking around to find the slot, but not sure why I might be missing it. Here's a full screenshot of the internal notebook. Do you see anything interesting, or where it might be in the picture?
I don't think this laptop had an SSD originally when I bought it -- just the hard drive. So I can't find the slot in the video where I should be replacing it.

Sorry for jumping in, to answer your question: "Do certain HP-Pavilion 15-cc563st configurations " ? the answer is NO, HP-Pavilion 15-cc563st is one model/product, all HP-Pavilion 15-cc563st machines are the same.
The difference: HP-Pavilion 15-cc563st is one model/product of the HP-Pavilion 15-cc5xx series (xx = 00aa to 99zz) therefore you can see hundreds of models/products around.
Hope this makes sense.
Regards.

Anytime.
Glad to have been of assistance.
Since your notebook's model series only supported SATA M.2 SSD's if there was a slot, it is not a performance issue, as a 2.5" SATA SSD will perform exactly the same as a M.2 SATA SSD.
NVMe is a different story.
IMHO, this is the best 2.5" SSD on the market for price and performance...
