Hp Elitebook 840 G6
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

Our organization has a new batch of HP Elitebook 840 G6 with all the USB-C/TB ports.

In the end we were adquiring the Docking Station for and given the "HP USB-C Mini Dock 1PM64UT", that is very limited for the final usrr and would jeopardize the solution. In reality the specification list given that wasdemanded, lsited a product that supported (A) this notebook model and (B) the specification given for the dock were in line with the: 3FF69AA HP USB-C Dock G4 EURO (needed dual displayport, more USB ports, etc).

Am i taking crazy pills or was the assertion that THIS dock (HP USB-C Dock G4 EURO) worked with THIS model of laptop (HP Elitebook 840 G6 ) and permitted the AC Power passtrough from the dock to charge the Laptop, as being correct?

Can anyone help, please? Thanks for your time.

Yes, the following list shows HP has many of them

        https://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/getpdf.aspx/c04168358

and as you said: at least 3 of them are compatible. Now which one is the right choice.

>>>> the doubt is if it works or not?

It is an an HP product for HP 840 G6 machines. Believe this or not is up to you.

I don't need USB-C/Thunderbolt charge therefore I'm using a cheaper dock (USB-A/C dock).

             HP USB-C/A Universal Dock G2

>>>> some USB-C faults were detected at some point,

Not USB-C ports are the same, specially on HP machines. I believe HP has different way to implement USB-C ports.

That is really ambiguous, as if you go to the docking station compatibility list

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06358101

it referes to at least 3 models, all with the supported quirks.

As to this Elite Docking station, some USB-C faults were detected at some point,

the doubt is if it works or not?

Thanks for the thought and time for the solution, I can say all the previous Docks are supported, and the one I wanted, HP USB-C (Elite) Dock G4SKU3FF69AA, is supported too.

The HP Helpdest guided me into the correct quickspecs for the laptop, and you can find it here @ page 49.

Thanks a lot.
