Hi Wolflead6.
Out of interest what USB devices are you connecting? My issues were and still are that a Mouse or keyboard will NOT work reliably if connected to the dock, however USB drives etc are no problems.
The other issue I have is that I have 2 of these docks one at work one at home. Both have 2 displays attached to them.
I shut my system down whenever I go from office home etc.
Each time, I will need to unplug one of the Displays as for some reason it will be recognised as a 640x480 resolution display, so I have to unplug it via the DP, wait till windows registers the fact and then reconnect it.
Maybe this is a windows 10 issue, but on my lenovo I never had issues with docking stations etc.
Additionally I need to always sign out and log back in as otherwise the screen I use as my main display has not been adjusted for fonts etc properly. (maybe again a windows issue) Also teh spectre as a 4K display and my monitors are either 2560 or 1920 resolution.
The monitor issues are just annoying and time wasting but teh fact that I couldn't connect mice/ keyboards directly to the docr through a logiteck dongle is very annoying indeed.
Also why once cannot use the on off button on the front of the dock also to me seems odd that they haven't found an easy patch for this.
To me it appears that anything which HP considers "consumer" and not "business" is not worth the effort to look after.
I chose this over the envy as it had the latest generation 8 processor.

I have a late 2017 8th Gen Spectre X360 with the 4K screen.

Yes, I did try the Caldigit Ts3Plus.
I doesnt work.
It will not do dual displays.
The ethernet does not work.
Both the keyboard and the mouse work badly. When you type, the keyboard sometimes will not react at all sometimes its kinday herky jerky , the same with the mouse. The display port will not work with any monitor. I did get one monitor working by using the thunderbolt port with a DVI adapter.
The minute I plugged the caldigit in , it hijacked the sound from the laptop and can't get the laptop sound to work again.
When I went to the Caldigit website, they had a fair amount for suppor for Mac but barely anything for the PC side of the world

I read this thread and got three postives on the kensington SD4600P, I have the Spectre x360 convertible 15-ch0xx though and two 27 4k HP screens. I bought the kensington, and have used it for almost a month.
I can make it work, but it is not unusual that I have to pull som plug and put it back to make it work correctly. Happens when I connect or if logged out for too long. I often loose a screen or both or the resolution on one screen resets to 1920x1080. Also I suddently exprience having no charging and the power plug needs to get pulled. The solution to make it happen less were to lower the refresh rate to 30.

I tried the CalDisgit TS3 Plus and it did not work at all
The Kensignton T5200 Thunderbolt dock works perfectly with Spectre x360-13 and I am running 2 monitors. If you are running VGA or DVI off the display port, you will need an active adaper.

I have the HP Spectre X360 13-ae005na and 2x SAMSUNG - C24F396 Full HD 24" Curved LED Monitor (these monitors only have 1x hdmi & 1x VGA connection)
Following reading this thread I purchased the Kensington SD4600P docking station (also called K38231WW), I have connected this to my Spectre via the super USB-c cable that comes with the dock and also have 1x hdmi from the dock to screen 1 and 1x hdmi to display port cable to screen 2.
The dock doesn't seem to work very well and sometimes not at all, the laptop only seems to recognise screen 1 if I unplug and plug the hdmi cable in and out of the dock a few times (this happens each time I log back in on the laptop) and it also doesn't reckongise screen 2 at all.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi All - Reference Spectre 360 and Kensington SD4600 (and multiple monitors).
This thread is a bit frustrating as posters only talk about their bit and don't consider the previous input and/or don't seem to read the specs of their devices so lots of misleading info here.
It looks like (from the positive comments) that the Kensington SD4600 works with the Spectre with the following caveats:
1. There are multiple variants of the Spectre 360 and no-one identifies clearly which they are using you can find the model (if you have the HP Support software installed) by clicking the HP SUpport Assistant icon (in your Tray right hand side) and clicking My Devices - My Notebook product name will be shown there). Mine for example is HP Spectre x360 Convertible 13-ac0XX
2. Multiple screens can be run (up to 4k as per post above and according to kensington specs) - Some people say they have issues but do not refer to the Kensignton specs that state "multiple screens can only run at 30Hz" - if someone with the screens issue would confirm they can fix the issue by changing display settings to 30Hz [or confirm it does not ifx it] that would be helpful.
3. Some note issues with multiple devices connected at the same time. Again every poster needs to confirm what they have connected. e.g. if it is confirmed that you are charging your laptop, charging a phone and multiple screens without issue - are you running the screens at 30Hz? Is anyone running at 30Hz and still has the screen connection issues? If the connectivity to mouse is not working correctly are you running multiple devices/screens as well?
5. How are your screens connected? Which ports?
6. What version drivers are you running?(i.e. ensure drivers are up to date first!)
7. Is the laptop charging correctly
7. DO you get the HP warning pop-up?
This is not an exhaustive list and I have not thought this through - but the posts in this thread just leave me so frustrated that with som many struggling ( and no doubt spending much time fixing) we don't really know much more about what actually works...so if you have it working please do share the detail and make many folk supremely happy, especially me!!

Thanks for the info on docks. Will try the kensington.
I got rid of the USB-C message about non-HP adapters by renaming USBCMSG.exe to USBCMSG.old.exe
Just be aware you'll be missing out on other, possibly important, messages.

Hi. Did you ever figure out the docking station situation? I too am having mouse and keyboard problems. Initially I thought it was the keyboard and purchased a new one, but the second one is having problems as well. Also, I am trying to attach two monitors and only one wxternal monitor is recognized on the laptop. Any solution? I Imagine I need a new docking station but not sure which one to purchase. The one I have I purchased at Best Buy. I get the typical hp error but now having more issues.
