There is a reasonably complete list of docking station compatibility in this PDF (click). Generally speaking, the industry is moving away from 'attachable' style docking stations such as the UltraSlim Docking Station to Thunderbolt and USB-C docking.

 

The PDF gives a much longer list of systems compatible with the UltraSlim Docking Station than the product page Huffer rightly pointed you to. The list includes "HP EliteBook 840 & 850 G1, G2, G3, G4, G5", which seems to suggest the UltraSlim docking station is compatible with EliteBook 850 G5.

I'm currently using the D9Y32AA on an EliteBook 840 G5 (3JX94EA) with no problems.

However, I would note that the screen handling (two Dell UltraWide U2913WM, daisy-chained through DisplayPort) is not great (first monitor blanks out frequently) until I upgraded the firmware on the dock.
