Pavilion - 14-bf125tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP Pavilion - 14-bf125tx (2017 Model) and I want to add a SSD to it. It does have a m.2 ssd expansion slot on the motherboard.

As NVMe drives are faster than SATA, so I was thinking of buying Samsung 970 evo plus 500gb.

But my question is, does my laptop support NVMe drive (particularly 970 evo plus) or not?

Any help is appreciated..

Okay, thanks for your reply!

This means I can go with Western Digital WD Blue m.2 SATA SSD.

Also, there shouldn't be any problem with the compatibility of SSD's storage (500GB or 1TB) with my laptop, right?

You're very welcome.

Since you know the M.2 slot is already there, yes the WD Blue 500 GB or 1 TB M.2 SATA SSD would be fine.

If you look at chapter 3 of the service manual, additional parts are required for the M.2 SSD's so it is good they are present in as much as your notebook did not come with a M.2 SATA SSD from the factory.

Okay, thanks! I will go with WD blue. I will be using it as an additional drive with my 1TB HDD.

What parts are you specifically referring to? I remember, only the screw that holds the SSD is not present. Rest, I only have to insert it in the slot and it should work fine.

You're very welcome.

Chapter 3, page 17, shows additional parts required that are to install the M.2 slot onto the motherboard.

(20) Solid-state drive adapter bracket  L00160-001
(21) Solid-state drive board                     L00159-001
The solid-state drive board cable is available using spare part number  L01440-001.

As I posted the other day, since you have already opened up your notebook and saw the M.2 slot, then all you should need is the hold down screw if it is not present.
