According to the specifications / tech specs for the dock, it is compatible with your system.

Maintenance and Service Guide

The computer likely has either item 7 or item 8 C-port connector as shown on Pages 7-8.

Item 6 is a dock connector port

Items 7 / 8

The teeny, tiny lightening logo next to the port indicates the port supports Thunderbolt.

"USB Type-C power connector and Thunderbolt™ port with HP Sleep and Charge"

The Super-Speed C-Port logo with the D indicates the port supports C-Port and Display Port

"USB Type-C SuperSpeed port and DisplayPort connector"

The datasheet "small print" in the left column on the first page provides additional information / limitations.

What doe all this mean?

Should work, I think, if it is all connected correctly and you have all your software and drivers installed and current.
