Hi, I'm trying to figure out if my Laptop has a built in fan. I never hear one, ever. If not, would it beneficial to install a fan? Is that even possible to do on this laptop?

From the information I could find, notebooks that fall under the 8RK30AV product number have Intel Pentium N5030 processors.
Notebooks with the Celeron and Pentium processors do not have fans.
The system engineers at Intel designed those low wattage processors to run without the need of a fan.
You wouldn't be able to add a fan.
I have a HP notebook with an Intel Celeron N3450 processor, and after a while the bottom of the notebook gets pretty warm to the touch.
I don't know why they designed these notebooks to run without a fan other than to extend the battery run time, but it would have been nice if they had not made that decision.

Thank you very much. I looked everywhere and didn't really think it'd fall under the category of low wattage. I saw others having trouble to find it, but did find it, and it ended up saying there computer had a fan. Well thank you very much. Thank you for the early reply as well!!

You're very welcome.
You don't think of the processor being low wattage after sitting that notebook on your lap for an hour.
Winter's nice though. Keeps you warm.
The processor specs indicate it runs at 6 Watts.
Intel Pentium Silver N5030 Processor 4M Cache up to 3.10 GHz Product Specifications
By comparison the Intel Core processors in the model series run at 15 Watts according to chapter 1 of the service manual:
Maintenance and Service Guide HP 14 Laptop PC
Those models have fans and different heat sinks.

haha with Winter yes. but honestly, It definitely feels warm. It's unfortunate because I'd rather lay down and be on it then on a desk. but huh, the wattage is very low. I was wondering why the CPU was having trouble with basically ps2 level games. it'll run with some tweaking but it'll run different. Now I know why.. Thank you for the specs, This is probably the most I've learned, as in by far, about this laptop than when I've looked over the internet. It was a gift, though runs fine watching videos and that such. Only thing I've found so far aside from the graphics is zoom screen sharing. There's a optimization for the video and the sound check mark you press prior to screen sharing, in the same window. Supposedly That's why it'll lack. I just found that out from Youtube. Seemed to work by myself so hopefully it works with others. I guess we'll see. overall, not a bad Laptop. as long as you're not gamer. but it was never intended for that from manufacturing. Not to bad at all. Thank you for the feedback. Is there a way I can rate you?

You're very welcome.
Unfortunately, the notebook was not designed for anything more than surfing the web, checking e-mails and watching videos.
The processor is just one step up from the weakest processor offered in the model series as is the graphics adapter.
Basically, the only upgrade you could do would be to remove the 4 GB memory chip (I believe the model only as 4 GB of memory), and install an 8 GB memory chip, which may help performance a little.
Thanks for the compliment.
