HP ENVY 17-j188 Leap Motion SE NB PC

Hey,

I spent a lot of time searching/trying to activate the TPM of my HP ENVY 17 Notebook from 2014 but just didn't have success. As the web suggests, I tried this method where I reboot my in the menu "Updates and Security" > "Reboot" > "Advanced Reboot" in the setting of Windows 10. At some point the screen is black and tells me to push F10 to open the Bios Setup. There I can't find anything about "Trusted Platform Module", not even in the "Security" sub menu, where I expected it to be. Btw my HP has BIOS UEFI version F.43

Hi:

The HP 17j-1xx model series does not have a TPM security device.

If you are wanting to know this because of the possibility of upgrading to W11, none of the processors in the model series meet Microsoft's minimum processor hardware requirements either.

If you are interested in installing W11 on your PC as is, you can read this discussion for how I upgraded several HP and Dell notebook and desktop PC's that did not meet the W11 hardware requirements to W11 22H2.

You have to use the version of the Rufus utility that I zipped up and attached in the discussion (v3.18).

If the in-place upgrade fails, you should be able to clean install W11 using the bootable W11 installation flash drive you made with Rufus.
