Hey Folks,
I would like to add a new high speed SSD(1TB) along with my current HDD(1TB) on my laptop(HP Envy 15).
Hence, I need someone to help me on checking whether my laptop supports PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD or not.
I really appreciate any support or suggestion on this.

Hi:
Your notebook does not support NVMe SSDs of any generation.
Chapter 1 of the maintenance and service guide indicates that there is supposed to be a M.2 slot that supports SATA M.2 SSD's but if you look at the disassembly procedures chapter, there is no procedure to remove or replace a M.2 SSD.

Hey,
Thanks for the prompt response. I am little confused here. In the pdf (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04409752.pdf - Page 12 of 118), they have mentioned that my laptop supports the following SSDs right?
256 GB M.2 SATA (MLC) (or) 256 GB M.2 SATA (TLC)
Does "no procedure on the PDF to remove or replace a M.2 SSD" means, My laptop doesn't support M.2 SATA SSDs? (or) Does it mean that, "My Laptop supports M.2 SATA SSDs but we have no information on the procedure to add the SSD to my laptop"?

You're very welcome.
Therein lies the problem.
I don't know what it means.
You are going to have to open up the notebook and see if there is a M.2 slot present.
If you don't see an M.2 slot after you remove the bottom cover, it could be on the other side which means you would need to remove the motherboard.
To me it would not worth the trouble to remove the motherboard to look for a M.2 slot.
I would just replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SATA SSD.
A M.2 SATA SSD will not be any faster/better than a 2.5" SSD.

I need more Disk Space. Hence I don't want to replace my current 1 TB HDD with 256 GB SATA SSD 😢
I have no idea on why weird issues happen to me 😅
I have contacted one of the Authorized HP Service Centers near me. I have shared them my Product Details. They checked my laptop specifications and replied me that My Laptop supports adding 1 TB NVMe PCIe Gen 3 SSD along with my current 1TB HDD and they have sent me a quotation for this HP SSD to my Email.
When i asked them about Gen 4 SSD support on my laptop, they were not sure on that. Later they informed me that, My laptop does support Gen 4 SSDs but they cautioned me that adding Gen 4 SSD to my laptop might result in some other Laptop Issues within 6 months.
My laptop model Information from HP Website is in contradiction with the Information from a HP Authorized Service Center. I am not sure which Information to trust. 🙃
