Laptop product number is 1KU29UA#ABA. Would like to upgrade to m.2 NVME.
What are the m.2 specs? Looking at the Samsung 960 EVO Series - 250GB PCIe NVMe - M.2 Internal SSD (MZ-V6E250BW)
There was total lack of information at the point of sale. HP chat told me it was supported; however, no additional info was given.

You should not have to wait 4-5 business days for something that is in the Manual published by HP:
See the "Storage" options on p. 2 and the "how to" for hard drive/SSD access on pages 39-43.
It says you can have a 2.5 inch hard drive or SSD and then also an M.2 disk but ONLY the SATA variety so the Samsung 960, which is an NVME disk, will not work. It is difficult to tell where the M.2 slot is from the Manual but it looks like it is right above the hard drive and along side of it.
So the Samsung Evo 850 would be compatible:

I am still somewhat confused on this subject.
Christmas I was given a Samsung 960 NVMe which fit the onboard connector properly; however, it was not recognized. According to the Service Manual the m.2 connector supports m.2, SATA III. Looking at the Samsung 850, SATA III device I see two key slots, where the Samsung 960 only has one --same as the connector on my laptop.
Laptop systemboard is a revision D. Can you confirm the proper upgrade for 1KU29UA#ABA?
What are the required BIOS setting to use a m.2 device?
