Hi All, 

  • I'm using a Hp ProBook x360 440 G1. It has a non-backlit keyboard. I wish to upgrade it's keyboard to backlit one. Also I know it has an extra port inside required for supporting backlit keyboard (Since my laptop has a backlit variant too). I just wanted to know whether upgrading the keyboard voids my warranty in any way ? My device is covered under extended warranty.

Warranty is a grey/gray area very hard to say in concrete. For new generation machines, adding something is a work for Authorized Service Provider parts . You can add yourself. If something went wrong due to this upgrade, I think HP would not honor warranty.
