I see the slot, but I'm not sure how to check if it does support an NVMe SSD drive. Does anyone know for sure?

512-GB/ 2280 M.2/SATA-3 solid-state drive with TLC   HP p/n 763008-020

 $108 in the HP Parts Store for the 512 GB SSD

I can't find any information on your notebook as you have described it. Google only finds your  post.

 

Take a closer look at the product number and product name and post it here.

As we can see on page 2 of service manual for your PC, it supports only M2 SATA3 drives.

Thanks, I thought those were just the recommendations. I was looking for more detail that excluded NVMe drives.
