HP Pavilion 15-au063cl (Touch) (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi HP Community,

I own an HP Pavilion 15-au063cl (Touch) (ENERGY STAR) laptop and am considering upgrading its storage. I’d like to know if this model includes an M.2 SSD slot for additional storage or if it only supports the standard SATA drive.

If it does have an M.2 slot, could you please let me know:

  1. The type of M.2 slot (e.g., SATA, NVMe, or both).
  2. Any specific recommendations or compatibility considerations for M.2 SSDs in this model.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi:

Since your notebook only came with a 2.5" mechanical hard drive, there is no M.2 slot to support a SSD.

Only the 15-au### notebooks that came with M.2 SATA SSD's from the factory have a M.2 slot.

You can replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SATA SSD and it will perform just as fast as a M.2 SATA SSD.

NVMe SSD's were not supported in the model series.
