@Gigi33,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I reviewed your post and I understand that one of the hard drive partition is missing in the Windows explorer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you follow the below steps and check if it helps.

1. Go to start and type cmd.
2. Right-Click on Cmd and select “Run as Administrator”.
 diskpart

3. At the DISKPART prompt, type:

 list volume

Make sure that the drive letter is showing here.

If the drive letter is not showing up then go to disk management and see whether you can see free space there.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accept as Solution. Your feedback counts!

Cheers!

Hi and thanks for your answer .

I already have done the 2 steps you talk about.

With dispart : no partition :'( only the  principal C and the recovery one E (i dont remember exactly)

Into disk management, no free space !

The hard drive is about 1To size ...

The partition C and E are about 140Go ... 860Go have disappears and impossible to allocate them into a new partition

I dont  understand and i' m not noob with PC... More than 25 years i work in informatique as lead tech 🙂

Let's try these steps -

1) Press “Windows key + X” to click on “Control Panel”.

2) Click on “Troubleshooting” and click on “View all”.

3) Click on “Hardware and Devices” to run the troubleshooter. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if this helps.

4) In the Action menu of Device manager, select “Scan for Hardware changes” option.

Also, try updating the computer -

Step 1 Windows Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open Windows Updates.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Step 2 HP Support Assistant Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Go to Disk Management, click “Action” on the toolbar and then select “Rescan disks” to let system perform a re-identification for all connected disks. See if the D drive will appear after that.

If you continue facing the issue, then follow the steps in the below article and perform a system restore back to the date when everything was working fine on the computer.
