I am having the problem with my laptop's keyboard. My laptop's model number is HP pavilion ab516tx. most of its key combination are not working, (for eg. (right shift + qwertyuiop buttons) and (left shift + zxcvbnm,.) are not working) however in boot time troubleshooting option, it is showing that keyboard is fine. I have also tried uninstalling the keyboard from device manager and then restarting, but that's not either showing any improvement. I am also updating driver from device manager, it is also downloading the driver but not installing it. So i need ps/2 driver, so i can fix my laptop's keyboard problem.

Thank you for joining HP Forums.
I'll be glad to help you 🙂
As I understand, few keys are not working on the keyboard,
No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:
When was the last time it worked fine?
Were there any hardware/software changes made?
Have you tried running a hardware test?
Let's try these steps to resolve the issue:
Perform a hard reset (Notebooks): Perform steps from the link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c01684768
Run Hardware Test:
Use the following steps to open the Component Tests menu.
-
Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
-
Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
-
On the main menu, click Component Tests.
-
The Component Tests menu displays.
Your Component Tests menu might be different, depending on the components installed on your computer.
-
Select the Keyboard test. Keyboard Test - The Keyboard test provides a quick interactive functional test of the keys on the keyboard. A keyboard is required for this test.
To run the test, click Keyboard, and then click Run once.
The Keyboard Test time is 3 minutes.
If the test passes, try a BIOS update: Click here
Let me know how that pans out
I hope you have a good day ahead,
And Feel free to ask any other queries as well,
Considering, this forum has some of the best people in the world available and ready to help.
