Product: HP Pavilion g7-2240us Notebook
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have a HP Pavilion g7-2240us notebook that came with windows 8... I hated windows 8 so i upgraded it to windows 10.   WELLLLLL  this device didn't like windows 10..   So i installed windows 7 on this device.  it seems to work fine accept for all of the ports on the left side of the notebook.  the ports on the right side of the notebook work fine and there is a section under device menu the says other devices and under that unknown devices. so i'm guessing that is the ports on the left side of the notebook..  

 

I checked the driver download section and there are only drivers for windows 8 or 8.1   

 

Would anyone have any suggestions.

You need the USB3 driver for W7...

 

This package provides the Intel USB 3.0 Host Controller Driver for the supported notebook models and operating systems. The driver enables USB 3.0 devices.

 

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp61501-62000/sp61721.exe

 

If you need any other drivers for your notebook, use the W7 drivers from the G6t-2200, except the BIOS and firmware files.
