Hello HP Team

Hope you are doing great, but I'm not 😂

As I'm facing issue after windows 11 reinstall on my HP Notebook - 14q-cs0017tu.

System automatically give me best available ELAN Touchpad Driver Version 21.2.28.7 but after that two-finger gesture, pinch to zoom not working. I tried to install older versions like 18.2.19.1, 21.2.24.1 and 21.2.25.2 but no good result so far. So have to manually choose PS/2 Compatible Mouse.

Please help me to resolve this issue.

Hi @ParthGajjar

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

Your HP Notebook 14q-cs0017tu is defaulting to a generic PS/2 mouse driver after reinstalling Windows 11, which disables advanced ELAN touchpad gestures like two-finger scroll and pinch-to-zoom. The fix is to manually install the correct ELAN driver from HP’s  Website and re-enable gestures in Windows 11 touchpad settings. I would request you to please follow the steps:

Download Official HP Driver https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers

  • Windows Update often installs generic drivers that lack gesture support.
  • Visit HP Support → Drivers & Software → HP Notebook 14q-cs0017tu
  • Select Windows 11 (64-bit) as your OS
  • Download the latest ELAN Touchpad Driver provided by HP
  • Save the installer to your PC

Uninstall Current Driver

  • Removing the generic driver prevents conflicts.
  • Press Win + X → Device Manager → Mice and other pointing devices
  • Right-click ELAN/PS2 Compatible Mouse
  • Choose Uninstall device
  • Check Delete driver software if available
  • Restart your notebook

Install HP ELAN Driver

  • Installing the HP-certified driver restores gesture functionality.
  • Run the downloaded installer
  • Follow on-screen instructions
  • Restart your notebook after installation

Enable Gestures in Windows Settings

  • Gestures must be re-enabled after driver installation.
  • Go to Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Touchpad → Advanced gestures
  • Ensure Two-finger scroll is enabled
  • Enable Pinch to zoom
  • Customize other gestures as needed.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
