I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

I also have Envy 15 notebook that both hinges have have broken away from mounting points. Hinges have gone stiff applying extra tension on mounting points that have now broken away from top cover.
Local PC repairer has quoted $300 to do repair.
Notebook is out of warranty but I thought I was picking a quality notebook that would last my university life but these hinges are rendering the notebook unfit for purpose with me thinking every time I open up the lid it will be causing more internal damage.
Now after reading these forums I find this is actually a design fault so quite honesty I am now loathed to having to pay $300 to repair. I would be interested in hearing from hp to see if they have any better solutions

I have the same problem. The left hinge is broken, and it is separating the case and affecting the internal components. Of course my warranty ended two months ago, but as this seems to be an ongoing issue I don't understand why a recall wasn't issued.
How do I get this fixed?

My Envy top end laptop has all of a sudden got an issue with its left hinge, my laptop never moves apart from opening and closing, used every day for business and as such should not break in this manner, however looking at forums and online it seems old HP asaurus has a serious issue with this left hand hinge issue because the internet has untold numbers of customers with the same issue
Everytime I open the lid, the top left corner seperates , the hinge is snapped and I can now see a laptop that I paid top end money for becoming useless, [edit]
