HP Elitebook 8730w

Hi,

After upgrading to Windows 10 (from Windows 7) my CD player (HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T50L) is not working properly any longer. I can play sound files located on the hard drive or on the internet but I can not play a music CD. Ejecting the DVD from the context menu fails ("An error occured..;").

The content of the Cd is visible in file explorer. I can open and close the CD tray manually.

I get no errors in device manager ("this device is working properly"). Uninstalling the driver ans restarting the computer does not change anathing. The computer reports that the driver is up to date.

The upgrade to Windows 10 32bit was without any issues.

Any idea?

Thanks. LeoEG.

Eventually the Windows troubleshooter fixed the issue. It installed a generic audio driver. Thanks for your effort. LeoEG

DVD playback isn't included in the Windows 10 upgrade.  That includes CDs.   Yours was originally a Windows 7 notebook.

For the better part of last year, Microsoft has a Windows 10 hardware device compatibility website with links to drivers, and that is where you may find the driver.
