Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The EliteBook 8470p USB 3.0 ports which are on the left hand side of the PC (near the DC in) is not recognizing USB devices.
Both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 devices do not work.
SD Card slot also do not work.

OS is Windows 10 Pro 64 bits and bios updated to the latest available on the HP site.

Any suggestions please?

Thank you.

Hi:

I wouldn't be able to help you with why the USB ports aren't working because W10 should have installed the drivers for those.

You probably need this driver for the SD card reader so that it works on W10...

The JMicron Media Card Reader Driver enables the integrated media card slot in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system.

Hi Paul,

Thank you for your advice.

I installed the software and still not able to read  SD card.

In the device manager, USB 3.0 also show and latest driver installed. JMicron also show for SD Card.

Is there any hardware problem or need card similar as network card?

I wonder these left side two number of USB 3.0 ports and SD card not working.

Two number of USB 2.0 ports ( Right hand side ) are normal and still working.

Thank you.

On this model the card readers on the left are separate replaceable parts but the uSB 3.0 ports are soldered to the motherboard as are the usb 2.0 ports on the right. So you could replace the card reader assembly but the usb 3.0 ports are damaged and would require motherboard replacement to fix.
