My laptop is: EnvyTouchsmart m7-j020dx
My CPU Fan is failing. I just received my new fan after waiting 4 weeks. Meantime I had the laptop on a cooling fan pad I purchased to keep the CPU cool.
5 weeks I found a video showing how to change the CPU fan on my notebook. I can't remember where I found it.
I am sure there are videos showing how to do it in a generic way, meaning on most laptops but i really think I found a video showing how to change the fan in my notebook EnvyTouchsmart m7-j020dx
If there is a video can someone please give me the link. My fan came in today and I also received my laptop tool kit.
Thanks for

Huffer - thanks for your reply. I just now saw it. I don't know why even though I was subscribed to this thread that I did not receive an email alert of a "reply". I just happened upon it now.
I watched the video and it seems to be that of my laptop. I won't know until I open up my laptop. I have been putting it off until I have the time to really get into it. I am limited in the amount of space in my home where I can lay out all the parts as I take them out and be sure the "cats" don't start playing with them. For this reason I am on a tight time line once I start the project. I received my special tool set that I ordered just for this CPU fan change out.
I accepted your reply as the "solution" because it looks so much like my laptop and I am sure it will be just fine. I won't know until I actually start dismantling the laptop.
So sorry for the delay in thanking you for your reply Huffer.
I will report back after I do the change-out to let you know how I made out.
