I'm really upset because it's very inconvenient to do not be able to work more than one battery cicle time. When my battery is low , I have to turn my pc off and wait for it to charge, there is moments it is horrible not to be able to use it plugged in and charging. I would be very grateful for any tips to resolve this issue. I'm a person that despend a lot of money in the HP Envy Laptop 16 I bought. I'm also a person that take really good care of the item, I do, before anything, all updates. I feel shame for buying a HP product, If I do not resolve this, I promise myself never buy HP products again and I will encourage all person I influence to also do not buy.

I understand how frustrating it must be to have a premium device like the HP ENVY 16-h1000 not charge while it's powered on. Let's walk through some steps to help resolve this issue.

Perform a Hard Reset

This can clear temporary hardware issues:

  • Turn off the laptop.
  • Disconnect the power adapter and all peripherals.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power adapter and turn the laptop back on.

Run HP Battery Check

Use HP Support Assistant to test your battery and charging system:

  • Download or open HP Support Assistant: HP Support Assistant | HP® Support
  • Go to Battery Check under the "Battery" section.
  • Follow the prompts to test battery health and charging behavior.

Check the AC Adapter and Charging Port

  • Ensure you're using the original HP charger that came with your laptop.
  • Inspect the charging port for dust or damage.
  • Try a different compatible HP charger if available.

Update BIOS and Drivers

Outdated firmware can cause power management issues:

  • Visit the Official HP® Support
  • Download and install the latest BIOS, chipset, and power management drivers.

Battery Calibration (Optional)

If the battery is misreporting charge levels:
