There is no indication on AMD website regarding maximum amount of RAM on Ryzen 5/7 2500/2700 APUs, only maximum speed. I have tested on my Ryzen 5 2500U and 32GB works nicely. There are no 32GB sticks available at the moment to try, maybe these will also be working with Ryzen, but who knows. RAM controller on Ryzen 5 and 7 is exactly the same, so Ryzen 7 2700U also supports 32GB of 2400MHz RAM. I am nt sure about 2666MHz, probably it will drop speed to 2400 on these modules, but have not tried myself.
HP mentions 16GB as is sells this model with only up to 16GB, leaving 32 and 64GB RAM option only to more expensive laptops.

I just bought GSKILL RIPJAW DDR4-3200MHZ 16GB, So I'll let you all know if it fact runs at 1600Mhz vs 1200Mhz which is default. If it does, it'll be the fastest running Ryzen 2500U Vega 8 Mobile on 3dmark results, yet.
I just need to find a Torx bit small enough to fit because these screws are tiny.

- 2500U doesn't work at anything higher than 2400mhz & its incompatible with the Gskill Ripjaws ddr4-3200 ram. CPU Defaults to 300Mhz, and won't budge, barely got into windows after a bunch of led light codes well one... 3 long 5 short

My 15z-bq100 CTO has HP factory fitted with two Hynix 4GB 2666 Mhz modules and it's firmware configured to 2400 Mhz.
I replaced two Hynix 4GB 2666 Mhz modules with two Hynix 8GB 2400 Mhz modules.
