Expanding USB slot cover fell off

This little Pavilion has spring-loaded USB slots the opening to which expands to allow room to insert a USB plug.  Today, I found one of these little plastic "covers" on the floor after using my new laptop.  It seemed to slide back into place but now I am concerned the next time this happens I will lose it.  How can I stop these plastic parts from sliding off?  Thanks.
