Hi, I'm using an HP Envy x360 -13-ag0002na. Since I've purchased this notebook I fell in love with its weight, speed and overall value for the price. But I have been experiencing some serious issues and after a lot of researching I've decided to come here for support. So, the issues I've been experiencing:
- The notebook is extremely noisy, especially when folded into tablet mode. I'm talking about so noisy that it's impossible to watch a movie without a headset. This is with most of the HP command center settings.
- Under normal browsing activity, temperature shoots up into the 90C temperatures and above. I've played around with the settings in HP command center and the only setting where it's remotely possible to keep it cool is under quiet mode, which is the one that tunes the CPU to it's lowest speeds. Anything else that requires more processing power, such as running a JVM for programming work maes the laptop reach 90C+ numbers.
- The screen on the top of the notebook pops out. This is especially worrisome, since it looks like a hardwre flaw that could get much worse in time.
- Battery life is quite low. Sometimes barely enough to watch a movie on netflix.
All those combined, makes it almost impossible to enjoy what this notebook is ideally what's intented for: watching a movie in bed (especially the noise since I'm next to my partner), notebook is hot to the touch, folding into tablet mode makes it impossible due to even louder noise and so on.
I was hoping to get some advice here. Laptopt is brand new and It kind of makes me sad it is in this condition

Hi! @madkimchi,
Were there any recent windows update on the PC?
Please share the product number of the PC to assist you better.
Try updating the BIOS and chipset drivers to the latest version and check if it helps.
You can update the drivers on the PC using the HP support assistant.
Refer this article to know more information about using the HP support assistant. Click Here
Try the steps recommended below.
Avoid the issue by restoring HP Command Center to the default setting (CoolSense = Off) before uninstalling.
To change the setting after HP Command Center has been uninstalled:
- Re-install HP Command Center from the Microsoft Store:
https://www.microsoft.com/store/productId/9P92N00QV14J
- Open the HP Command Center.
- Select Thermal Profiles.
- Click Learn more...
- Switch CoolSense to Off.
Try restoring the BIOS to default.
1. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
2. Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
3. On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
4. Press F10 to Save and Exit.
5. Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
6. Follow the prompts to restart your computer.
To properly ventilate the computer, allow at least 7.6 cm (3 in) of clearance on the left side
of the computer. The computer uses an electric fan for ventilation. The fan is controlled by a temperature
sensor and is designed to turn on automatically when high-temperature conditions exist. These conditions
are affected by high external temperatures, system power consumption, power management/battery
conservation configurations, battery fast charging, and software requirements. Exhaust air is displaced
through the ventilation grill located on the left side of the computer.
Lastly, try running a system diagnostics test on your PC and check if the hardware components on your PC are functioning correctly.

I have followed the instructions and did a bios update along with an HP assistant update. Notebook reached 97C during the updates and unless I switched to a quiet mode, The fans of the laptop were on and very loud under idle activity.
My product number is 3ZT30EA#ABU
Please inform how to proceed further.

Hi! @madkimchi,
Thanks for writing back to us.
Did you try running a system diagnostics test on the PC, does the issue persist?
As you still have issues after updating the BIOS, it certainly sounds like a hardware issue with the PC.
Please contact HP support for service options.

I've tried to contact support, But I've found it impossible. After entering my Serial number: [EDIT] The support site keeps resetting and there is nowhere I could actually get support. I am an IT professional and this has to be the worst support website I have encountered in my life.
Please guide me on how to actually get support to look at this notebook.
