Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP Pavilion 14-dh0000 x360 Laptop on Windows 10. My New external DVD Drive is recognised ok, but no files can be seen on the disc as the 😧 cant be read. I also get a message saying the USB device connected to laptop malfunctioned and Windows doesn't recognise it. I've tried two different new DVD Drives and I get the same problem with both.

I've tried Update Driver, Disable & Enable Device, Uninstall. And also, restarted and shutdown numerous times, all to no avail..

An error check of the DVD Drive, comes back with a message that says, The disk check could not be performed because Windows can't access the disk.

Hi@MAYNARMA,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing issues with the HP Pavilion x360 Notebook Microphone is not working correctly.

If Windows cannot recognize or detect your USB device, it could be caused by USB driver issues. If the USB device driver is outdated, corrupted, or missing, the computer may fail to display it as normal. In this case, you need to reinstall the USB driver or install the latest driver for the USB drive.

Press the Windows logo key + R to open the Run dialog box. Type control in the Run dialog box, then press Enter. In the Search box in Control Panel, type troubleshooter, and then click Troubleshooting. Under the Hardware and Sound item, click Configure a device.

I have a few recommendations

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

 Hi Dilip_18,

Thank you for the response. Your feedback is good to know, and may be helpful in the further if I'm faced with a similar issue.

On this occasion though, my issue was due to the settings within the VLC Media Player and Windows Media Player.
