Hi, I want to ask if I can install external gpu on my hp g5 probook 450 laptop.

 

If yes, which one do you recomend

Not easily. You have a USB-C port but its not Thunderbolt. Thunderbolt offers the ability to easily attach an eGPU. Without a Thunderbolt enabled port you could theoretically use the wifi pcie slot but that is problematic at best. If you insist on trying it post back and we can walk you through the eGPU to buy and how to connect it. Likely you will decide not to go forward.

See p. 39 of the Manual here:

This shows how to remove the wireless card. Its NGFF (M.2) form factor so you need an eGPU with that interface. You would have to run the laptop with eGPU with that cover off.

For this device you would also need a desktop power supply, a video card and an external monitor.

Exact model please? Does it have a Thunderbolt port? It probably has a pcie wifi port and routing the cable out of it for the eGPU may be easier.
